Lest We Forget - Frederick Jacob Snelgrove - Died in Hospital 100 Years Ago Today - 01.20.1918

Frederick Jacob Snelgrove, 69937, was from  Hillsborough, Albert County, New Brunswick and was born June 15, 1895 at Conception Bay, Newfoundland. He was Son of Peter and Jessie Susan Snelgrove, of Hillsborough, New Brunswick. He enlisted with the 26th New Brunswick Battalion on November 29, 1914. He was wounded in the left arm by a gun shot wound at the Battle of St. Elo, May 4, 1916. He was listed as Died in Hospital on January 20, 1918. He is buried at SEAFORD CEMETERY ; Sussex, United Kingdom. His inscription on his gravestone reads, "He loved Honour More Than He feared Death"
