Back to church Sunday, with a trip to Saint Alban’s Church in Riverside-Albert. This is one of the most beautiful churches anywhere, and if you get the chance make sure to take a peek at the interior, it’s just as grand.
What an amazing shot of the schooner Vincent A. White just before it’s launch at Alma, N.B., 1918. You can her sister ship, the Meredith A. White, just to the right of the photo.
Okay here is a photo that has come up for a great deal of debate at the Historical Society - This photo was given to the Museum as a negative. It was found in a local house with a collection of letters from Molly Kool. So it could be a photo of her, we’re just not 100% positive. What do you think?
Here is a great photo showing the fanfare behind the launching of the last tall ships built in Albert County, the Meridith & Vincent White. Notice all the ladies dressed in white, quite the contrast to other photos from the tall ship era.
I hope you like sailing ships because they’re this weeks theme. Some beautiful ships were made here in Albert County. Here is a photo of the ship Peaceland, at the wharf in Alma.
It’s Sunday and a time for rest, which is probably when this photo was taken. A great picture of the Wharf in Edgett’s Landing where the Gypsum from the King Quarry was loaded on Boats for Shipment Approx.1930’s.
