Legacy of Prime Minister Mulroney Recognized
The Albert County Museum and RB Bennett Commemorative Centre are honouring the legacy and contributions that Prime Minister Brian Mulroney made to Canada, by flying the Canadian flag at half-mast, where it will remain until his state funeral later in March. He will be honoured in Parliament on March 18th.
He valued Atlantic Canada as a vital part of the nation, and he was responsible for several important infrastructure projects including the Confederation Bridge, linking New Brunswick and Price Edward Island. He was also responsible for establishing the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, which provided funding, along with the Province of New Brunswick, for the refurbishment project at the Albert County Museum between 2008 and 2010, and assisting ACHS in preserving this historic “Shiretown” site.
